Tanglewood TW15NS

Acoustic 6-String Guitar

Made by Tanglewood

Description Its a jumbo, fixed bridge, centre round hole, no cutaway, no pick-up . Made of solid wood - no veneered plywood, I think the top is ash, its pale anyway, and the body looks like mahogany. It has a long neck meeting the body at the fourteenth fret.

I'd buy the guitar again if I lost it unless I could afford a Martin. The guitar might be better with lighter strings, and a bit of cambre on the fret board wight assist speed playing. Its just great to strum and finger pick, and there is lovely depth in the tone.
Model Year: 2002
Price: $250.00 (new)
Where Obtained: retail shop
Features:
Its an accoustic guitar strung with wire, and it has a lovely deep tone especially on the lower strings. It buzzes a bit especially on the G string, but this just gives it a more resonant twang. It feels realy good and the action is light, though I would prefer lighter strings. Somehow the thing just sings, I didn't mean to buy it, but I picked it up and just started playing again after 30 years!
Playability:
I've always had crap guitars in the past. This one sounds really sweet especially on the lower strings with nice body and some guts in the twang. I mentioned a slight buzz which does not offend me, and the balance of the sound is away from the top string which might sound a bit feeble.
Sound Quality:
I like it
Durability:
I think it will play better as it gets played more - the real wood construction should help this ... and I will get better as I play it more.
