Description This book teaches you how to make chords from the ones you already know. This is NOT a chord dictionary. If you understand fifths, thirds, etc. but don't know a lot of chords, get this book.

In short, this book teaches you how to make chords from the ones you already know. A typical lesson in this book starts with a basic chord, say A (X02220). It shows you which string is the root, 5th, 3rd, other. Since you now know where the 5th is in the A chord, it will show you how to how to create an Aaug5th (X0322X).

This book doesn't give an example for every variation of a chord because it's NOT a chord dictionary. Plus you really don't need an example for every variation because you are constructing chords yourself. Also covered are string skipping chords. Includes USEFUL charts of which intervals to include when you want to create a certain chord. This book does NOT give much background on what a fifth, flat third, etc. is so you need to understand that first. It doesn't explain well why a G is a 5th in the key of C, just that it is and you can move it to get a new chord. In summary, this is a useful book but leaves out some basics.
Suitable for beginner guitarists
