A Great Axe! In Order to buy a Fender Telecaster of like quality and with these features I would have had to pay Fender 'Custom Shop' prices. $2,500 or more. I had considered Fender's 'James Burton Signature Series' Telecaster, but my G&L Asat Classic is actually much closer to the original Tele played by James Burton on all of his classic works with artists like Ricky Nelson & Elvis.

My G&L was made in the good ol' U.S.A. The finish is a gorgeous Transparent 'Butterscotch' over natural 'Swamp Ash' body with a strikingly beautiful 'Birdseye' Maple Neck. The Pick-guard is Black. It features the classic 2 single-coil pickup configuration with three-way pickup selector switch_one volume and one tone knob. The knobs are in the good ol' 'Dome' shaped style. The G&L 'Asat Classic is actually more like an early model Telecaster than are most of the models currently offered by Fender.
I like my action set so that my guitar plays as easy as a 'Hot Knife Through Butter'. This was easy to achieve with my G&L. The neck is a 'V' Shape and is made from a beautiful piece of 'Birdseye' Maple. I've never owned a better playing guitar. Before purchasing,I always check my instruments quite carefully for flaws of any kind. My G&L is flawless.
My choice of Amps is a Fender 'Twin_'65 Black-Face Re-issue. With My 'Asat Classic' I play Rockabilly, Jazz_(Ala Ed Bickert), Country, and anything else I please. It's a very versitile instrument. The Sound quality is fat and full but fully adjustable to suit all musical styles. It meets, or beats any Fender I've ever owned. I've toyed with the idea of switching to Barden PU's but then,as they say, "If it ain't broke, why fix it"! The single-coils featured on this axe are really pretty quiet. Unless you get right on top of your amp and then you will, of course, hear some amount of single-coil hum.I feel that my G&L 'Asat Classic is a winner on the stage,or in the studio. It's a 'Pro-Players Axe' for sure.
Built for the road. A solid, durable player's axe. I've had one set-up done on this guitar and it has held it's intonation so far. . All hardware is as tough as a tank and holding up quite well indeed. Even Climate changes don't seem to effect this work horse.
This guitar is just heaven. Great sound, tone and playability! Thanks Leo!!!

Where Obtained: Lab Sound
This guitar is made in America with love. It is Leo Fenders creation and G&L's answer to a Fender Telecaster. Thanks Leo!!!
I went into Lab Sound to buy an extension cabinet and on the wall was this blond ASAT classic. I picked up this instrument for the first time I was shocked. This guitar has excellent feel and playability. Most guitars off of a wall usually needs to be setup but not this one. After trying many different telecasters with no success, this G&L was a dream. The guitar plays like silk!
When I first tried the guitar, it didn't sound that great through a Boogie. But the playability was incredible that if the sound was bad through my rig, I can always change the pickups. When I bought it home and plugged into my rig (Marshall amp with Roland effects), I was in heaven. This guitar could play sweet, twang, jazz, R&B and sheer screaming rock. What an instrument!
The guitar has been with me for over 13 years and plays as good as it did since the day I bought it. I've only changed the strings and straplocks on this baby. It plays great in the cold and hot!
Whatever you'll read about this guiar will tell you pretty much how i feel about it and i would recommend it to anyone.

Made in the original Fender manufacture(U.S.), using the exact same workbench, same wood, same technology, same hardware, same everything. When Mr. Fender sold the company, he couldn't use the name Fender anymore so he renamed it G&L which stands for George Fuller and Leo Fender.
It has a dark green finish in which you can see the wood grain and vein. This guitar is a Fender Telcaster
Bends, tremolos, p/o, h/o, name it, there all easier to make due to the high quality of this instrument. Remember, it's a "Fender".
I use a Marshall 5150 lead combo, 150 watts and a Boss GT-3 guitar processor. I'm a lot into Blues and Classic Rocks as well as fingerstyle rags, and let me tell you that this guitar is very well suited for those kind of musics and more. As far as the sound goes it can be anything you want. Compared to other guitars, this one is a real "Pro" one, on stage or in the studio you can be sure of one thing: it'll make look and sound good!
