My strings now only touch graphite. I've got Graph Tech saddles and string trees too. My guitar sounds very rich unplugged and great amped up. If you want to replace your nut with a non-mechanical one consider this nut. Especially if you like to do your own work. I was nervous about it but after getting into it I was fine. Just take your time, don't do too much at once, and it'll come together.
Price: $9.00 (new)

I put it in myself which I had never replaced a nut before. I used the old one for a reference by tracing it with an x-acto onto the trem nut. Then I whittled away at it for about two hours and sanded for another two and cut slots for another two hours. It was time consuming but the material was easy to work with. Once I got it to size I put it in and tuned up. Man! what a great difference. Much crisper fuller tones, the strings slide well in the slots when using the whammy, and it looks cool as hell.
Durability:
Very strong, I tweeked it a few times shaping it and it seemed strong. The strings glide very well over it.
