I also considered Martins, Gibsons, Taylors, and a few others. None of the others can hold a candle to Seagull! After playing a Seagull a time or two, I became a true believer. Also, for the price I paid for this, the other names are putting out very mediocre guitars. A Martin or Gibson with features similar to my Seagull would be easily twice as expensive... and for what? Because some guy thinks his name is worth all that extra money? No thank you, I'll be playing Seagull acoustics from now on.

Made in La Patrie, Quebec Canada, with a solid spruce top, solid book-matched mahogany back, mahogany nech, indian rosewood fingerboard, 21 frets, seagull inlay at 12th fret, on board electronics so it can be played through an amp, laquer finish, cutaway.
This guitar has way more features than you can get from competing brands for the same price. Plus, it is hand made.
It plays like a dream. The neck is like silk, and the action is perfect. It is one of my best guitars, and by far my best acoustic.
This guitar has the sound of heaven springing forth from it. It has a nice warm sound with the mahogany neck and back, but the spruce adds just the right level of brightness to round it out. In my opinion, it sounds a lot better than other comparably priced acoustics.
It is an extremely well made musical instrument, obviously built with attention to detail and pride.
