The Blues Guitar Of Keb' Mo'

by Keb' Mo'

Homespun #HL.00641446

Description I spent an hour with the first 20 minutes of this video and was surprised at the number of licks and turnaround in E that I was learning. Great instruction on using simple chord shapes to easily transpose.

This video would be nice, when I was in San Fransisco I was able to jam with his rhythm guitarist in the band. He blew my mind with his ability to lay down solid lead with slide, really nice guy. He's starting a new guitar company called Centerline Guitars, you should all check it out.

I wanted this video for two reasons: 1. I'm a competent musician, but I had not explored much playing of the blues, just listening. 2. I've enjoyed Keb' Mo's music for a few years and this looked like a way to add some of my favorite music to my repertoire.

Keb' gives good explanations of picking and inventing

The accompanying tabulature is good. I found it be a good launching point. And Keb' continually encourages you to treat the lessons as just that. He gives you several foundational runs and shows you how to transpose them to other keys.
Suitable for intermediate guitarists
