Rating:
I was looking at a new double cutaway Les Paul Standard when I found the used Jimmy Page Signature Les Paul. I think I would look at this guitar again if it were stolen.. but I might opt for a 1958 flametop reissue. The neck is amazing and the coil taps are pretty cool too. I'm not sure the 500T is the best pickup for the Les Paul... but I'm still debating that with myself. http://www.gibson.com/products/gibson/LesPaul/JimmyPage.html
Model Year: 1997
Price: $2100 (used)
Where Obtained: Musician
Features:
Gibson Custom Shop. Humbucking Pickups: 500T (Bridge), 498 (Neck) - no covers Volume and tone for each pickup. pickup coil tap and phase switches. Honey Sunburst finish, AA bookmatched maple top. Single cutaway. Tune-o-matic bridge.
Playability:
The Jimmy Page custom "U" neck shape is one of the best I've ever played.
Sound Quality:
I use a 1969 Fender Twin Reverb Silverface with a POD2 into the amp front end. The 500T is a little hot for a blues/rock style, but cutting back the guitar volume a little seems to compensate well. 500T at full volume is great for a metal sound.
Durability:
Hardware is holding up fine, except the gold finish is wearing off where I place my palm for string muting, etc. The gold signature on the pick guard had already worn off by the time I purchaced the guitar.
