When the hell did they start making $150 guitars that were worth playing? I wish they made guitars this good for under $500 back when I started playing...I would have gotten alot farther alot sooner if this had been my first guitar. It's a 100% wonderful guitar for the price, and really, it competes with guitars that I have played in the $300-450 range.
Price: $149.00 (new)
Features:
What is this thing? Indonesian? Whatever, I dig it. It's got a cutaway, feels pretty good on my knee. The finish ain't bad either. The tuners need work.
Playability:
It's a nice guitar for the price. I can honestly say that it doesn't feel as good as a Taylor...but you could buy 10 of these for the price of a Taylor or a Martin! It doesn't have that crappy "student guitar" feel that I expected from a guitar in this price range. I played these things in 6-7 different stores...I know there are better guitars, but this one feels good in my hands.
Sound Quality:
It sounds not bad at all. It's fairly loud, doesn't buzz, the tone is pretty balanced. Overall, it sounds really good for practicing and jamming on someone's porch.
Durability:
Well, this is one of my "car guitars" and it has held up for over a year now with no problems. It spends weeks in my car, and it hasn't shown any signs of wear and tear.

An outstanding beginners guitar. I purchased this for my 11 year old son. I liked the sound and playability far better than the other beginner guitars I looked at for him. At this price it was a particularly good guitar to start out on.
Model Year: 2001
Price: $129.00 (new)
Where Obtained: Stuart's Music
Features:
A very nice beginners acoustic guitar featuring a cutaway body, spruce laminate top, mahogany sides, and a rosewood fretboard. A good deal for the price.
Playability:
Very soft action - perfect for beginners. The cutaway body is nice because it allows younger beginners to get to the higher end of the fretboard with ease although many kids will like the looks alone.
Sound Quality:
Outstanding sound for the price. Although an experienced player will note that the resonance and fullness is less than the high end guitars, this guitar's sound is far better than any other guitar I looked at in this price range.
Durability:
It's a beginners guitar and I had to look at a couple of them before I found one with the fit and finish that I wanted to take home. On the other hand, it is well built for it's purpose. It isn't designed for the stage, but seems plenty sturdy enough to handle daily practice and jam sessions with friends.
