Great Files sharing tool. Period. Easiest, but littered with porn. Lots of good songs though.

I used to be pretty much sold on AudioGalaxy, but once they started their premium subscriber service, it seems like us "non-payers" took a backseat, and it got a lot slower and harder to use. That's fine, you get what you pay for. Kazaa is a great alternative. I tried it once before, a year or so ago, wasn't impressed, so I dumped it. They have vastly improved its functionality and reliability, and I am very pleased with it. It's fast, has a huge range of songs available, and even an idiot like me can operate it. What more could you want?

I think this is an ABSOLUTELY GREAT resource. Its the only one that I use for downloading ANYTHING, that is the benefit! I have used Napster in the past, that was when popular bands were being filtered out,I thought that it was USELESS, I mean it might well have been groudbreaking etc. Anyway back to KaZaA, I think that the interface is excellent and the fact that you can play films, preview everything, play music files ETC ETC ETC is fantastic. Also the number of users is fairly outstanding (correct me if this is comparitively small), at the moment, there are 489407 users online, sharing 68471 files, this is well below what it normally is too! So overall, a throughly excellent program.

After the battle over Napster was won by the MPAA many file swapping applications popped up. One of the more popular ones is Kazaa. This might be my favorite Napster alternative, because it is easy to work with, and I usually get good results with out having to sift through a million files to get what I want. I use broadband, so I do not know what kind of speed you will get using a dial-up modem. I get fairly good speed, but there are always the normal variables that could slow you down. Kazaa is also more than just music swapping. Documents of any kind can be uploaded and stolen, whoops, I mean shared by the rest of the world.
