Hunky Dory gave us the first taste of Bowie's potential. More than anything this album contains a sense of fun. It also has my favorite Bowie song 'Oh! You Pretty Things'. Future Yes pianist Rick Wakeman taps out some of his finest work here and Bowie's vocals are fully realized in his grand style. This was the album before Ziggy Stardust in more than just a cronilogical sense. In the songs you can hear what his music would later develope into. Arty and Poetic 'Hunky Dory' is a masterpiece.
