This recording is great. Derek belongs in the up and coming G3 with Kenny Wayne Sheppard and Jonny Lang. Derek's CD is lined with music to satisfy the starving lusts of music afficianados. The opening cut is "Preachin' Blues" (from the great Sun House) plays slide all over the place reminding me of Elmore James. The next cut is an original composition called "Younk Funk". It brings back '80 funk/fusion into the modern day. Heavy slide and single note solos lace this track. Forty Four (Chester "Howlin' Wolf" Burnett) and "Good Morning Little School Girl" (Sonny Boy Williamson)features Warren Haynes on vocals on this CD. The CD is not that easy to find, but if you do you won't be sorry. It is worth picking up.
