Which ones didn't I look at? Anything in the $400 to $600 range, Another used Guild (dreadnaught), Peavey, Yamaha, Fender, Alvarez. This was just THE BEST guitar regardless of price, but the price was great considering it came with a hardshell case. Worst aspect? none. Better? only the addition of prettier binding I suppose, but sound and playability could not get much better.
Model Year: 1991
Price: $550.00
Where Obtained: Fretted Instruments-Homewood, AL
Features:
USA made, Mahogany back and sides, mahogany neck, spruce top, Satin finish, Jumbo body 17 inch, arched back, Grover tuners
Playability:
Great action, even with heavy gauge strings, it is a typical Guild acoustic, excellent playability and loud, like a jumbo should be, no flaws.
Sound Quality:
I am a not a guitarist (much) so I just play tues I know. Like 3rd Eye blind Jumper, Stairway, whatever. This guitar has a huge deep tone with plenty of mids. I have not played it either on stage of studio, since I'm a bass player, but I think it would be great in both.
Durability:
Excellent in all areas here.
