An album of live material recorded at Armadillo World Headquarters in Austin, Texas in 1975, this Zappa/Beefheart offering just might send you out looking for more Zappa and more Beefheart.

Three of the tunes on this album are Zappa/Beefheart collaborations... and they are pretty "out there".... one that consists of Beefheart screaming something about "rubbing his entire body with Avon cologne" and "forcing him to move to East LA... just 'till his skin clears up" and the other two being a sort of "beatnik" poetry set to music. In fact the title of the album comes from the end of one of these monologues, where Beefheart says, "I wish I had a pair of bongos," at which point the band breaks into Louie Louie and Beefheart starts singing(?) "bongo Fury!!" over the top of it.

The rest of the tunes are classic Zappa, and the real center piece is a "must have" version of Advance Romance, a blues in the style of Bamboozled By Love, that features some great vocal interplay between Zappa, Duke, and Brock and empties out into a fantastic solo section where, first, Denny slaps down some very slippery slide licks, then hands of to Beefheart, who blows some mind-numbing harp, and then hands off to Zappa, who literally cleans up with his fat-as-a-hog SG tone and some downright scary blues stranglings.
