I was thinking about a Stratocaster but the guitarshop owner said these were made better, he would know...he makes/repairs guitfiddles. I would definitely buy this guitar again, but I wish it came with the graphite accesories on it. I like all the frets, it helps with solos. Dude, try one out next time you visis the ol' music store!
Price: $374.00 (new)
Where Obtained: Picolata Guitars
Features:
This solid Adler axe has 22 frets, six strings and three controls (volume and two tone). It's sunbursted double cutaway body looks sweet. It has nickel locking tuners on a maple neck. It's 3 Alnico single coil pick-ups and Wilkinson Vibrato bridge lets you play even the fanciest of Hendrix tunes.
Playability:
This guitar has super-low action letting your fingers fly at incredible speeds, really handy when the bpm increases. I'd say it plays better than a Strat.
Sound Quality:
It works well plugged into amps and computers. It allows me to coax the blues and acid rock out of it. It also has a nice full tone. I am considering changing the saddles on the bridge to graphite as well as the bridge and string hold-downs (This is supposed to contribute to string longevity). It's pretty quiet for a single coil.
Durability:
As is, it needs more springs to stay in tune, but with five in it stays there. It's tough, unfortunately mine has taken a couple good whacks.
