A nice fiddle, if your looking for sustain and feed back at low vol or hi vol it does it fine,I just found it to be very hi on the treble. This is the second one I've tryed the other was the montery pro which has a tittle wider neck and a differnt body style but the same system ,I also found the same tone in this guitar. Thank God Musicians Friend has a 45 day return, which I took advantage of.Maybe I am just too used to playing old school guitars(fender)(Gibson) or my Yamaha's and Schecter's to be objective
Model Year: 2001
Price: $299.99 (new)
Where Obtained: Musicians friend
Features:
This is made in the Us,but I don't keep track of all that crap,Pop body with RW finger board,6 strings with the sustainer system mz humbucker pickups active Retro met blue (nice)with white knobs and guard, double cutaway with classic style tremlo(non locking) oh yea SSh on the pickups and a maple neck
Playability:
While the neck and style are strat style and easy to play,I found the tone to be very treblely(if thats a word)mostly when using the sustainer,if you have a amp that put's out a lot of high's it is ear pearcing at times though you can ADJ the tone it seems a little stale. If you like the clanky sound this may be for you.The rest was very stright forward as strat styles go.
Sound Quality:
This would be great for head metal, the sustainer system does give great sustain and the harmony distortion is a knock out,but if you run effects to do this it gets a little obnoxis. Its great in the studio beacuse you can realy let it ring without blasting the hell out of your sound. While the sustainer is fine in some cases it stinks in others
Durability:
As far as reliablity it should stand a pounding it is very solid if you use bullet strings it will stay in tune well,in fact it stayed in tune well with webstrings extra lights and the tonenation was good
