I use alsorts of stomp boxes, Boss, Ibanez, Old things found or given as unwanted presents. Favourite aspect of the Korg AX100G is the good range of distortions, and amp modelling.
Model Year: 2001
Price: $149.99 pounds sterling (new)
Where Obtained: back alley music, chester
Features:
Good little box, not too versatile for gigging tho, but does have some excellent sounds.
Sound Quality:
I use a Japanese Fender Stratocaster, with the Korg AX100G routed through the effects loop in a Marshall 80watt transistor combo.
Ease of Use:
Easy to use, but limited for live use.
Durability:
Reliable, But flimsy construction.

I was not the one who browsed for the effects unit, it was my dad, but he saw them tested and said that this was the best one, and one of the cheapest. I have played other units at friends but they do not compare. Things that could b improved are things like the look, but that is a very minor thing, and it's appearance is still very good. Oh and it would be nice if it could cook for u. My favourite aspect is the rhythm program, which plays a drum beat through your amp which creates an excellent band experience when you are on your own. The worst aspect is it may take a week or two to really understand it, but it is well worth it. All i can say is that this unit is really great, and if u are thinkin of buying an effects unit i STRONGLY recommend this one.

Being relatively new at guitar, i keep wanting to expand my ability. I was a bit stuck for ideas when i thought of getting an effects pedal. I asked my dad for just a wah wah pedal or something and he got me this fantastic effects unit!! I know it is my first one but i still think it is an amazing piece of kit, and i will tell u why. It has 4 pedals, with one main one to vary volume of effect, 2 to switch between effects and one to switch between programs. It is both AC powered and battery powered, which is very useful. It has lots of effects and also gives you the ability to create your own ones. It can sample, with excellent sound quality, and the effects are great, ranging from mellow acoustic to hendrix style fuzz! It has an Aux in which means that you can record your cds, minidiscs etc if you plug the player into it, meaning you can play along to your fave songs! I may not be greatly experienced in the guitar world, but i have already grown to love the KORG AX100G.
Sound Quality:
I use this unit with a marshall 10 watt and a squier strat, and the sound is excellent quality. This unit doesn't cater for one type of playing style amazingly, it does them all amazingly. The only time it has got a bit noisy is when i have accidentally made a stupid setting, so really it doesnt get noisy. Some effects are better then others, but that is really because of my personal preference, and i can appreciate that the other effects that i dont favour as much are very good as well. All round a great sound, and a great buy.
Ease of Use:
At first it may appear complicated, but straight away you can figure out how to use different effects, and after a few minutes delving into the well written manual you can start to do some great things i.e sampling, creating own effects. It takes hardly any fiddling to get a good sound, especially as the effects are so easyily available. It has gain, treble, middle, bass and level controls, all which respond very well. It also has a built in tuner which is very easy to use.
Durability:
I have only played live in front of a few friends, but they were all very impressed. The pedal is especially useful for switching between effects quickly. To be honest i do not know much about KORG, or any effects units producers as a matter of fact, but so far this unit has been very durable and reliable, i havent had a single problem. It's construction is very well done, packed with features but still at a handy size. It fits in my school bag which is great for me as i am doing music GCSE.
