The choice was between this guitar and the Taylor Big Baby. The TAylor does not have anykind of built in pickup for very close to the same price. I wish they would include some kind of case/gig bag for the price. But I ended up buying a used hardshell case from the store for $25 that fit the guitar like a glove. Had some bumper stickers on it that probably dropped the price some but the stickers are gone now and with a little armor all and elbow grease the case looks like brand new.
Model Year: 2001
Price: $349.00 (new)
Where Obtained: Local music store
Features:
Made in Korea to fenders specifications. Top is solid cedar. back and sides are Mahogany. 6 strings. finish is a natural satin finish.
Playability:
Had to take the guitar back to the shop and have the bridge lowered some to get the action I was looking for. They did this for no charge. No flaws that I have been able to find.
Sound Quality:
Has a very bright sound which is what I was looking for. The Fishman pickup is very hot. I have to turn my amp way down after playing my MIA Telecaster before I play this acoustic. I would say it compares very favorably to the taylor line of guitars.
Durability:
I would think this guitar would be just fine for professional play.
