Although I love just about everything by all of the incarnations of Sabbath, the first album is the one that makes the hairs stand up on my arms from beginning to end. This is the album that made many people decide wether or not they were Led Zepplin freaks or Black sabbath freaks.I'm a Sabbath freak till the day I die.The production isn't as good as other their other stuff but Tony Iommi's playing on the song Black Sabbath opened a door to me that remained closed for a very long time:less is more.

Yea, this album is awsome. Sabbaths first album probably beats out their second (Paranod) and third (Master of Reality) easy. While there's no "War Pigs" or "Iron Man" or "Children of the Grave", the music on this albums blows me away. Tony, Geezer and Bill never go wrong, and Tony's guitar playing is beautiful. Even though you may not know any songs off it, any good guitarist will enjoy this album.

When you listen to this record, you almost can't beleive it was released so long ago. It's still incredibly heavy today. No wonder so many bands pay homage to Sabbath.
