Megadeth's 2nd full length studio album is something that I've always been very fond of calling a "classic slab of thrash metal." Right from the get-go, it just rips and shreds through all sorts of occult and political meanderings while displaying a complex yet elegant and refined understanding of thrash metal that was still in relative infancy when this album was made. Only 8 songs, but each and every one of them, even the Jeff Beck cover "I Ain't Superstitious" are absolutely searing! Some ppl tend not to like Mustaine's vocal style, but if you can get past that, the lyrics are incendiary and the music is like napalm. Thrash metal at its finest.

This is,by far,the best of all Megadeth's albums.Of course Marty isn't on here but Chris Poland is no slouch and I believe this to be the best songwriting Megadeth had ever done.Production isn't that great but great songs make up for it.My Last Words remains the greatest song these guys ever did and is still one of my all-time favorites, period.Metallicas loss was my musical gain.

I have always liked Megadeth, although this record is better than the ones they released before it, its not nearly as good as their next effort "rust in peace". It's still pretty good though.
