My neighbor gave me this when I told him I started playing guitar. For a bigginer who needs a metronome, its a great little unit. Otherwise, i would get a real one, or something a bit nicer.

The Quartz Metronome is a good begginer little unit, with a great rang and nice loud speaker. It's accurate and the earphone jack is great.
This is an ok metronome when it comes to durability. Although it hasn't broken yet, I don't use it often.
This is your basic no frills metronome. I use it on practice with my acoustic guitar and its plenty loud. The instructions ar simple. But when I went to install the 9v battery there were no instruction on that and I nearly busted it trying to open it. And it took major muscle to attach the battery to the two poles. Other than that it's an ok baseline metronome. It does the job. I guess if I backed over it in my car I would get another. It ticks and is cheap.
