I had a lot of fun playing along with this Jam Trax CD - it really does give you the sense of playing with others, of course there is no interaction like in a band. There is almost no instructive intent to this book and CDso don't buy it thinking you'll learn the theory of blues or any hot riffs.

Good for the beginner. CD contains 10 tracks sampling various blues tempos and textures. Multiple scale patterns are listed for each, as well as the chords for the jam track. The book provides sparse, but useful technique advice, and features chord charts with multiple voicings that match those used in the jam tracks. Good for gaining familiarity with blues basics and getting improv solo practice. First cut on the CD is a tuning track.
