This is a great piece of software, and the price is unbeatable! It's free to download, and if you'd like to have it on CD-ROM, you can order it online for $20. I'm very happy with it, as it helps further bring music, and music notation into the electronic age.
Price: $0.00 (new)
Where Obtained: Coda Music Technologies
Suitable for all skill levels of guitarists
This is a great little piece of software. It allows you to make your own sheet music and then print it. You can also play your creations in the program. There are 2 drawbacks to this program. The playback is somewhat limited in that it sounds the same regardless of the instrument you are arranging for, and there are certain things (like repeat sybols) that are ignored by the playback. Another feature that would be nice is if it supported guitar tab, but this software is for all types of music, not just guitar. Included are 2 tutorials in the help file that let you make the most of this software and show you some workarounds for some of the limitations of the program. You can also save your music in an HTML format which you can post on the internet and people can view/play it with a browser plug in.
Ease of Use:
A simple and straight-forward program, I'm personally using it to learn to read sheet music. It has a great deal of flexiblilty and power. But the learing curve is nonexistent. As soon as I finished the install, I was making music. It's really that simple!
