If you are a beginner and trying to figure out what guitar should you buy, this is a good choice. For professionals I recommend the ESP models, but for beginners and amteurs, I believe that this guitar would be a better choice for its durability. I do not recommend the Fender models.
Model Year: 2002
Price: $400.00 E (new)
Where Obtained: Kouvolan musiikki
Features:
The body and neck is made of very fine quality of maple, I think. It has 1 volume and 1 tone. The pickups a really good, but the one closest to the neck is quite disturbing sometimes, because the plectrum hits it quite often. This because Its higher than usually. Though now Ive cleared that problem. The finish is natural, but I have it black-coured, because it is newer than the one here. The bridge is not a string thhrough body.
Playability:
The playability is very well, though the first pick-up is not so good placed. I am very satisfied in the neck, because it places the strings well. Ibanez GRX 40 is absolutely better than manny Fender models, coz it doesnt have to be tuned so often.
Sound Quality:
I use a 16 wat Kustom Solo 16R. I have been very satisfied to it, though it hasnt got some many tuning buttons than the larger ones. It has reverb and cd-input, wich is a good thing. I have got slight problems with the second and third string, they are lately being giving a slight buzzing sound. I believe that I can handle them, but I would love if somebody would send me messages so I could know whats the problem in it. Teh sound quality is been quite well.
Durability:
It IS reliable to live-playing, because the frets are quite good. The tremolo could be slightky better.

When i bought this guitar, i knew nothing about electrics. i cannot replace this guitar, its something special, that just kind of crossed my path. when i saw it, i knew that was the perfect guitar, mainly because i could actually afford it.
Model Year: 1999
Price: $256.00 (new)
Where Obtained: Midlothian Music
Features:
Japan made, w/rosewood fretboard, metallic blue face and white pickguard - tone and volume controls, w/ tremolo. This is my first, and only, electric guitar. I got it around a year ago, and its magnificient. The frets, though made shabbily, work well, the edges have smoothed from constant playing. Nothing is better than a personalized guitar. I've played custom les pauls, american standard strats, peaveys, all these guitars proffesionally, painstakingly hand made, and all really costly, but i love my old guitar more than any of them - it just feels and plays much greater, for the piece of crap it is.. heh.
Playability:
Everything is wonderful, but i would change the neck to mohagany, or brazilian rosewood. Its smoother than way. But, the neck is greatly manipulable, and as i said, knocks out all other guitars ive played. some peices are loose, the input is all wrong, the wiring is screwed to hell, the tuning machines are looser than my next door neighbor, and the tremolo puts the guitar out of tune enough to kill a dog, but it sounds terrific, with two single coils and one humbucker pickup. who would've thought a cheap, shoddy made guitar could be so fun?
Sound Quality:
With reverb, its heavenly. with a fuzz face and reverb, its extraordinary Its great for jazz, rock, blues, and even classical. - strange - if you put your ear up to the neck, and play a string, mainly the g, you get a slight feedback, and thats without an amp. Beautiful on a tube amp with good drive.
Durability:
Everything is wrong with it - ive not experienced and temperature problems, its held up with with bumps, drops, and scrapes - it goes through strings faster than i do solos, and burns a hole in the pocket - like a fool, i do all repairs myself, but this insures my " relationship " with my guitar, and i dont need some professional to screw with my shoddy mess.
