For 300 clams I believe this axe is a good value.
Price: $299.00 (new)
Where Obtained: guitar center
Features:
Two-piece maple neck, rose wood fret board, aluminum nut, Gotoh mini tuners, sturdy adjustable chrome bridge and two lipstick single coil pickups.
Playability:
This Dano is easy to play and surprisingly so, with big nicely finished frets and a low action. It's a pleasure to work and Its even possible to bend strings.
Sound Quality:
Sound was the most surprising feature of all. Bright and jangly, It's a blast! I really liked it's single coil sound from either top or bottom pickup. And for single coils this thing is really quiet. I slide a capo on the 7th fret and sounded like an exotic Eastern lute or something. I also found that I could substitute for parts that require a chorus effect.
Durability:
Construction is a mixture of cheese and quality, an example of this is the vinyl tape binding, plastic strap stays v.s.. a burley chromed three way pick-up and reinforced jack. Go figure?
