I chose this one for it's sound and playability, in more recent years it has become more of an object of esire form others, but was originallly purchased a a tool, more recently (1989) I retired her from gigiing and bought a US Kramer Pacer which is siilarly weighted balanced and identically contoured.
Where Obtained: Original Owner
Made in USA riginally bought in Rhyl North Wales in 1962 has a slab neck original whalebone topnut and original Kluson pegs.
All original including 3 position switch, never renovated, never modified and shows signs of age.recently refretted by Patrick Eggle with the original style of narrow fret.
Plays like a dream tremolo arm does not cause tuning problems having the original springs these are well bedded and maintain perfect tuning with 9,11 guage top strings
Have used Marshal for the last 30yrs but recently purchased a Musicman 60 watt 2 x 10 combo, blow you away !!!
The old lady is too valuable to gig full time, but when alowed out she performs excellently. Is not unduly perturbed by extreme cold of journey and heat of venue.
Ive played a veriaty of axes but the fender stratocaster

American custom made 1963/2001 original 1963 SN#Lo1763 body with a 2001 factory replacement neck 22 fret rosewood fingerboard honeybrown sunburst in color smoke pearliod pickgaurd vintage chrome 60's knobs(the only option change ordered by family member)standard trem/bridge grover deluxe tuners (vintage replacement)
Action is less than 3/16 down the neck and has great response there is to be a lot said for the sensitivity of the original pick-ups but they still sound crisp and clear depending on the amp it is played through
I have two rigs I run through afender frontman 25r and a crateGX-40 DSP both are great for prctice but if you play out you will really need a bigger amp
What can I say bit has survived two necks and is still going how many guitars can you say that about
This is a good guitar for them people who like to hotrod the hell out of their guitars but it might also be good for an intermediat to advanced guitar player
Where Obtained: uncle
This is a Modified fender strat from the 60's it has 2 single coil picups and one seymore-duncan humbucker picup the and a five way tone swich the volume knob was moved out of the way so you dont hit it when your playing ;)and has also been modified to fit a model one floyd rose tremalo system from the 80's there are also 2 tone knobs.
The action is good on this guitar except for a slight buzz every once in a while but thats its only flaw
It sounds great! with the humbucker pickups it makes it have a twangy yet distorted tone to it
With the exception of a few dings and scratches its in fairly good condition
