I own every Blink-182 cd except Flyswatter and I must say that this is the best one. Take Off is very good, but this is definitely the best. The songs do have a very heavy pop feel to them, but if you like that sound this is definitely for you. If you go to high school, or even remember the crap you had to put up with. Then this cd will definitely strike you. While Mark and Tom aren't master musicians, Travis owns on a drum set. They songs are well crafted and the music fits right.

This album is what makes potential guitar players riun themselves. It defines a band with no talent It is a shame that people call this good

Decent songs, overall, but the only people who call this stuff punk are under 30...way under 30. The vocals are kinda nasally and "Beach Boys-ish," without the cool harmonies, and the guitar work is catchy, but lacks any real creativity. These guys are, ot me, okay for a casual listen. I don't change the station when they come on the radio, but I don't buy their CD's either. (My kids do, and play them constantly.)

The term that I feel would best describe this album would be "Geek Punk". This is definitly not be in the collection of your prototypical leather-jacketed, saftey-pin fashioned punk. It is more for the person who would not go quite so far as to even be a poser. So it is surprising that it has gained so much commercial success. Success is also surprising because it is not that great of album. It contains many elwments that could have blossomed into something truely good and original, but their success has probally ruined those chances. It is not as catchy as the Ramones, as angry as the Sex Pistols, as musically intellegent as the Clash, as funny as Half Japanese, but it has alot of promise that will probally be squandered.

Blink 182 isn't as deep in emotions as Green Day, but they make their own version of punk with four or five albums-this one, the most pop-loving so far, Enema Of The State, so far their bigest selling album ever. Even though almost all songs sound the same, or at least most of them, this album is great for the pun generation. Instead of having three-chord music like GD, they decide to play their music a lot faster, with less distortion on their guitars and a way faster drum set that most of the time sounds like a mess-but yet music, much like the drummer of the Who, it reminds me of. If you look at the entire album, the only song that would stand out really far among the rest would have to be "Adam's Song", a lot more serious driven than any of their other songs, but yet at the same time is still a Blink song. Rare bands can pull that off and still sound cool. Their guitars are stratocasters, a standard issue for most punk bands, or at least it was. Blink definetly has a unique sound: making me wait for their next album due later this year (June actually, my birth month).

This is an awesome high strung aggressive punk rock record you'll run around naked up and down the street over and over again like I do ;0) with loud aggressive songs like What's my age again? and All the Small things to Mutt and Dysentary Gary.
