-this is my dirty sound most of the times, a little delay and compression and the fd2 set on 'vintage' and i'm good to go. it really excels at the classic hard rock and blues sound
-my fav aspect of this pedal is the many tonal options it gives you, the worst aspect is the boost, which takes some getting used to (doesn't boost the volume as much as the gain)
Where Obtained: eBay
-3 way toggle switch (comptcut/fm/vintage), volume tone overdrive and boost, two channel switches
-ac and battery
-i use a strat or lp through a vox ac30 or a marshall ss
-this is a blues/classic hard rock od pedal, not suitable for modern high gain metal sounds
-that said, it is extremely versatile - it's possible to get many different types of sounds out of it suitable for different musical situations
-comp cut for clean boost, fm for a lot of mids, vintage setting is very tube screameresque
-very quiet pedal
-pedal is made to od a fender reverb-style amp
-takes a little tweaking, especially if you want to be able to step on the boost and get a complimentary sound for solos, but doesn't require more than a few minutes of fiddling with.
-very versatile as i said, so you have a lot of options
-hand made by fulltone, very solid
This unit is irreplaceable. It has become the backbone of my style. Beats all the vintage and modern overdrive pedals and rack effects on the market. Check out the Fulltone website. They have a bunch of different pedals. Also Fulltone offers the greatest customer service around. I e-mailed a question and got a reply from the owner himself in less than an hour!

This pedal offers the sweetest overdrive tones available. True bypass, which means no dilution of sound when the unit is off. A/C or battery powered. Gain control, tone control, separate boost channel for solos, master volume control. Built like a Sherman tank by hand.
This pedal is not meant for heavy metal players. I play blues ala Vaughan and Hendrix and this pedal is perfect. No need trying to track down an old TS-808, the FD2 blows it away. The most transparent tone available. A must for serious blues and rock players.
Idiot proof! Simply tweek a few knobs and jam. Wide tonal range makes it easy to find what your looking for with very little fiddling.
This pedal could survive a nuclear war. Built to last in even the most demanding environments. You could not break this pedal if you tried.
