Boss SD-2 Dual OverDrive

Single-Effect Pedal

Made by Boss

Description The SD-2 features independent circuits to produce two totally different overdrive effects. In LEAD mode you get a thick, smooth sound. CRUNCH mode gives you a fat, crunchy sound that's tailor-made for riffs and backing parts.

I wanted it because of the bottom end and the lead circuit.and would buy another.
Price: $80.00 (new)
Where Obtained: Lidgett Music
Features:
2 channel overdrive crunch channel and a lead channel w/remote foot switch.each channel has its own level, tone and drive settings.
Sound Quality:
I use a strat.thru a blues deluxe or deville 2x12 crunch channel is good for blues, rock or contempoary and the lead is a high gain sound with all kinds of possibilitys, for rythem or lead. both channels have good bottom end but sounds a bit buzzy if played threw 10" speakers.
Ease of Use:
No programming.but you can find a good sound real easy as with any other 3 knobber
Durability:
Heavy duty metal caseing.Use it pretty regular for 5yrs w/no problems

One of my favorite Boss pedals.
Features:
The controls are the same ones you can find from any Boss pedal except that the both channels have their separate knobs. Very bad thing is that you can only use one OD and clean or two OD:s at the same time if you dont buy the switch that Boss sells separately.
Sound Quality:
I like the sounds of this pedal: Crunch channel gives you the basic tube-amp overdrive simulation that sounds good in chord playing or in semi-clean soloing. Lead channel gives compressed sound that really cuts trough the mix if needed.
Ease of Use:
I have to give only 4 because of the mentioned switching problem.
Durability:
I would be surprised if this thing would break.
