Quality at an affordable price. The fuzz is thick, but not hard on the ears at all.

AC/9V-battery operation. 4 pots - Level, 2-band EQ, Distortion.
Obviously suits music of a heavier persuasion, particularly fuzzed-out rock n roll. Nu-metal & 7-string players should probably look elsewhere. The low-end is tight, but the high-end can get a bit out of control. Can be noisy in high-gain situations, but not too bad. More a fuzz box than anything else.
Can call up a wide range of sounds with this unit. Ridiculously easy to use.
Solidly built, and definitely can be gigged. The pedal itself, although strong, is quite sensitive, so you don't have to bash it. Quality construction overall.

This was used and abused, but worked outstandingly well. Boss builds their pedals like tanks. For 15 bucks, I really didn't care. With the right settings (Level: 50%, EQ: First one- 50%, Second one- 0%, Distortion: 100%) it sounds great.
Great with proper settings.
Decent choice for metal players who like to play lots of leads. There are better pedals in my opinion.
Standard features of Boss pedal: not much but basically all you need.
Not one of my favorite Boss pedals. Works well if you need distorted lead sound with lots of sustain but overall this pedal sounds like many cheaper pedals. Not as versatile as Boss says because most of the sounds you can choose from dont really work so well.
