Boss DS-2 Turbo Distortion

Made by Boss

Description The DS-2 features twin TURBO modes. TURBO Mode I produces warm and mellow distortion with flat frequency response. TURBO Mode II provides biting distortion with a mid-range boost that's great for leads.

THIS PEDAL IS A DEFINITE BUY FOR ALL YOU METAL PLAYERS!!! I would definitely buy one just like it if it were stolen.
Model Year: 2001
Price: $90.00 (new)
Where Obtained: Musician's Friend
Features:
Level, tone, distortion, and a level one/level two turbo switch. AC and battery powered. this pedal kicks a-- nothing I would change.
Sound Quality:
I use it with a jackson KX-10 Kelly and a Marshall MG100/AVT 412 half stack. i play blues-rock and metal and is perfect for it. it'll suit any style besides maybe country. no noise whatsoever.
Ease of Use:
Takes virtually no time to get a good sound, booklet comes with presets and you can log on to Boss's website and get more presets there.
Durability:
I've dropped this thing on cement, down stairs, on walls and has not broken, just a few paint chips. very durable for live playing. great and compact construction.

I chose this because the Great Kurt Cobain used it. I would buy this again if it was stolen. It could be better if you could put it so it would feedback just a bit. I like the sound, but some feedback would be cool. This is a very good pedal for all types of music!!
Price: $72.00 (new)
Where Obtained: Music Men, Springfield, MA
Features:
Has 4 controls, Level, Tone, Distortion, and a switch for which turbo mode. Both AC, and battery powered. I prefer AC. Sounds good with level at like 55%, tone at 75%, distortion at 50% and on the Turbo II mode. It gives at a real grungey Nirvana/Green day sound without the high feedback
Sound Quality:
I use it like this: Fender Standard Fat Strat-Boss DS-2-ART Xtreme Multi effects-Crate GFX-65. I play Grunge and punk, and its great for that, Its even great for a Jimi-Hendrix sound, its the perfect distortion, with no feedback, its strage how clear it is. Its a lot better sounding than my tube screamer emulator on my Multi-FX and Retro distortion. Better than my Ibanez SlamPunk.
Ease of Use:
Its very simple, just put the controls for the kind of sound you want and there it is!
Durability:
Its a BOSS! What can you expect, the best durability a pedal can get!!!!

Not one of the best Boss pedals in my opinion.
Features:
Standard Boss features and two modes you can use.
Sound Quality:
The sound is basically too much the same in both of the modes. The biggest difference is the amount of gain really. Very "sharp" sound. Wouldnt be my first choice.
