I've owned them all, except this one. I was skeptical, since Music Man built them originally, and then Peavey took over. I always heard the Music Man's version was better. That might be true, as I never tried one. But if it is better than the Peavey, then I want to find one. Because this guitar is built to rock!
I have no bad comments about this guitar. I love it.
Model Year: 1999
Where Obtained: eBay
American made, Basswood body, maple neck, with dual graphite reinforsements, 25 1/2" scale length, one volume control, utilizing two hot Peavey Humbucker pickups, and a D-Tuner. Not to mention the Floyd Rose double locking tremelo.
I have always been a Les Paul Player. This guitar plays, and sounds as good as the LP. In fact, with it's strings just a slight bit further apart, I play this guitar cleaner, than any guitar I've ever played. And it's overall sound matches an LP. Hard to believe, but it does. The guitar is built for comfort. The playability is excellent. No flaws on this guitar.
I play it through a Marshall JMP 50 watt stack. And it rules. It rocks, metal, blues, just about anything. I would not modify this guitar. As EVH has already destroyed 100 guitars trying to find the perfect one. And this is it.
With the Floyd Rose, yes it does need occasional tweeks, but not like some I've played. Big names too!
Not sure about climate, as it stays in the same climate year round.
