We waited a long time for this to appear and on my first play i was left with an overall feeling that it was a special album. However, although i play it a great deal and enjoy it, i feel that if Neil had taken the songs from the CSNY 'Looking Forward ' and kept them for this solo project then a great album would have turned into one of his all time best .... hence only the mark of 4 and not the 5 it so easily could have been

Silver & Gold, the latest release from Neil Young, is yet another fantastic collection of acoustic tunes. If you're a fan of recordings like Harvest, you likely to love Silver & Gold. Many of the songs have a theme of contemplation and reflection. It is apparent that Young cherishes his memories of past experiences and friends. As listeners, we get to hear his passion for life and its simple pleasures. Young's guitar accompaniment is as good as ever, with several original and satisfying riffs. Definitely worth checking out!
