by Green Day

(1997) WEA/Warner Brothers

Description Definitely the most diverse album ever released by this "punk" band. Excellent, simple songwriting.

If it's pure punk you seek, don't get Nimrod. This album represents Green Day's first real venture into something other than punk, yet it still sounds and feels like Green Day. It's also the first time that BJ started to create some melodic tunes that didn't totally rely on power-chords. Since it's more diverse, it took longer to really sink in for me, but now I can truly saw that I like every song on it. And now that I own their follow-up album, Warning, I think I appreciate Nimrod more than ever.
