Overall, the Jasmine by Tokamine is by far the best economically priced beginner guitar packing excellent quality with ideal sound to match the needs of every guitar ventureist. "I'd buy it for anyone interested in learning guitar as an ideal stepping stone into the wonderful world of acoustic heaven"
Price: $99.00 (new)
Where Obtained: Musicians Friend
Features:
Made in Japan, this exquisitely manufactured dreadnaught 6 string acoustic packs delicate precise sound and harmony for an exceptional "Beginner Guitar". With explicit attention to string height for ease of play, gear style tuning nuts, and narrow neck, the Jasmine will please every beginner guitarist.
Playability:
Tuning holds well with gear driven keys. Size fits well for small to medium sized hands. Strings are set perfect in height off the fretboard for ease of preventing frustration in beginning guitar.
Sound Quality:
The Jasmine meets equality in 75% of all top name Acousitc Dreadnaughts I've heard. Takamine has followed the design concepts of Fender in creating a low-cost clone with ideal sound for a 6 string.
Durability:
The Jasmine holds up well to typical bings and dings, surviving the day to day beatings of atmosphere and obstacles. Well kept in a padded Gig-Bag, the Jasmine will hold it's beauty and resonation for a long time.

I love this guitar. My first guitar, and I'm gonna keep it for a while... at least till I get an electric :)
Price: $130.00 (new)
Features:
Well, I dont know the details of it, its just a Takamine Jasmine... 21 frets... It was made in indonesia but that doesn't seem to hurt it at all.
Playability:
I, being a newbie, find it really easy to play. It has a slim, but sturdy neck, which allows me to be able to reach any string on any fret I want (except frets 15 and up - the body gets in the way)... I really have no problems with the guitar except when I try to play Other Side cuz I gotta reach to teh 20th fret :) The guitar is also excellent at keeping tune once the strings are stretched out. I have to tune it like once in 2 weeks, and even then, I only have to turn each key like 2 degrees (very little :)
Sound Quality:
The sound is great. its a deep, full sound and I love it. Compared to the guitars most of my buddies have, this is an awesome guitar for the price. I love it. Anything that was meant to be played on an acoustic will sound good on it.
Durability:
OOOhh I love this! I've dropped/banged/insert destructive action here this guitar so many times, and it doesnt show it at all! it looks brand new! The only sign of wear on it is a small chip on the back of the neck, but damn that came from a hard hit... lets just say my little insane niece decided to play with it... Everything I've done to it (and thats a lot) it withstood, and it seems itll serve me for a while
