This was the guitar I need for Church praise and worship. To have the great distortions for the high praises and the acoustic channel for the worship songs without having to switch guitars.
Model Year: 2002
Price: $985.00 (new)
Where Obtained: Carvin Factory direct in San Diego
Features:
24 fret semi-hollow acoustic/electric with locking Spezel tuners. Flaming maple top, sunburst. Piezo acoustic pickup under the bridge and two humbuckers on the electric channel. Two jacks to plug in to. One for electric and one for acoustic. A blend pot knob allows you to play just electric or just acoustic or turn it in the middle and you have a stereo sound from both jacks.
Playability:
I own a PRS and when I bought this Carvin, I never felt the change in the action or playability of the neck and yet I paid 1000 more for the PRS.
Sound Quality:
I use a Marshall Valvestate 2/12 combo for the electric channel and I run the acoustic channel thru my Boss ME8 effects pedal just to give the acoustic some EQ and sometimes a chorus effect. I love to come out of a full band playing with distortion then everyone stops and I kill the electric channel and it's just me strumming the acoustic guitar. It's awesome!
Durability:
Very durable, holds its tune good.

A beautiful sapphire quilt finish complimented by gold hardware and tung-oiled mahogany neck brings the visual aesthetic to this aural-masterpiece-maker. I got mine before they switched to the LR Baggs piezo pick up, to my dismay (you should hear the Godin LGX III's acoustic tone...WOW.) The Fishman does a pretty good job- it's obviously acoustic, not electric sounding. It's lightweight, gorgeous & stays in tune better than any other guitar I've played. The neck is SO nice. I highly, HIGHLY recommend getting over your fears of mailing off for a guitar- you will not be disappointed!

Hot pickups, plenty of output. I run it (the electric 1/2) through a Digitech RP21 & a Carvin 1/2 stack. The acoustic goes through a Carvin AG100D.
Durability:
The tune-holdin'est.
