If you're looking for new blood on the delta blues scene, then buy this album. It has a bunch of great delta-style tunes, including the wonderful title track and a great covers of "Gallows Pole" and Charlie Patton's "Pony Blues". Alvin has a great blues voice.

The one weakness is there are a couple of songs that I think are a little bit stupid, like "Joe Friday" (starting with a slide version of the dragnet music) and "When I was a Cowboy," which has an annoying refrain. But on the whole a big thumbs up for this one.
