A very under-rated album. I was on vacation recently, and stopped in a used record store, and picked this up on cd for a few bucks. (I've had it on vinyl since it came out) It felt great to listen to this album again. I think it shows a more seasoned Van Halen starting to emerge. Put this album back on, and give it a good listen again.

I agree. This album was a departure. I was a drummer for a Van Halen tribute band in 90-92. 'Romeo Delight' always brought the house down. One of my favorite songs on the album is 'Love in a simple rhymn.' The band definitely did some experimenting with 'Tora,Tora,Tora!''Loss of Control' wears me out!The album has humour and the musicianship is top-notch. I especially like the way they write a song, put 10 seconds of it on the album and it still rocked! There was no one like Eddie back then VH has always been one of my favorites.

The third album from the first incarnation of VH is a bit of a departure from the first 2 must have albums (VH, VH II) and is one of those that need a few listens before you realise how good it is. One of the main departures being the first use keyboards by Eddie on The Cradle Will Rock though it's hard to tell as Marshall amps and MXR pedals are used.

A bit difficult to get into initially but well worth it.
