I own Gibsons, Fenders, Jacksons, B.C Rich's, PRS's, Patrick Eggle's, and I even have an old Rickenbacker.Believe me when I say this. The Ibanez S540 Prestige is the most versatile guitar on the market, with killer sounds to match.I will never get rid of this guitar, even if my life depends on it.Awesome.

I can honestly say that this is the best guitar I have ever played, and I have have played most makes and models throughout my career. You can get any number of sounds from it, from a clean fender to a heavy duty Les Paul, but it is especially good for rock guitar.Take it from me, go try one out at your local guitar store, but beware, have your credit card handy because you will not walk out of the shop without one, guaranteed.
I use it through a Marshall JCM 2000 TSL 100w combo which I only bought last year and love it.It's a 3 channel combo with clean, lead, and crunch, each with its own gain, volume and reverb controls. The clean channel has its own EQ, and the crunch and lead channels share one.I use a Boss GT-3 multi effects unit which I put through the FX loop of the marshall(Note: I Don't use the distortions on the GT-3 because I like the natural amp sound of the marshall, so I only use it for my delays, flanges etc... but there are some wicked overdrive sounds on this box if you like a grungier sound). The sound from my Ibanez going through this kit is absolutely awesome in any situation, regardless of what kind of sound you are looking for.If, like me, you are a gigging musician, and are constantly having to carry 3 or 4 guitars with you all the time, then go get yourself one of these guitars and I guarantee it's the only one you will ever use.
As far as durability is concerned, I was doing a gig on Friday night in a place called Strathaven. It was during the break and we were off stage, when suddenly a set of 4 PAR 56 lights crashed on to my guitar. There are now a couple of scratches on the headstock, but I picked it up and it hadn't even gone out of tune.Is that durable enough for you?
