For one of my first "good" guitars, it's awesome. It's great to improve on, and perfect for live performances.
Model Year: 2004
Price: $600.00 (new)
Where Obtained: Southpaw Guitars
Japanese made, maple body and neck, 24 frets, 6-string, 1 volume, 1 tone, S/S/H, passive electronics, Duncan Designed pickups, double cutaway, Floyd Rose tremelo, graphite Jackson tuners.
The action is real fast. The neck is great for zipping back and forth.
I play strait through a Crate GFX212, and it sounds great. I play metal and it's got a killer low-end. Some feedback, but not too bad. Great for stage.
As far as live goes, this is THE guitar. It's light, and the stock hardware hasn't done me wrong.
I LIKe THIS GUITAR ALOT
but if I have enough money I might one different one
for me Metal is the way to go so I ll get an ESP later... but if you like just lplain rock go for gibson or yamaha.. I would not recommend Ibanez .. 2 of my friends have it and one is dull and too much of bass in sound and other one is too much middle boost...
Ibanez JS series is good though..
"I am getting KH-2 ppl..."
this section is added sometime after
Model Year: 1999
Price: $400.00 AU (new)
Where Obtained: Turramusic Australia
Made in India
controls for a volume and a tone
2 single 1 hum(ssh)
Jackson made pickups
bolt on neck
gets out of tune really easy
It's unbeliveablly good for $400 bucks man.
Neck is awesomely fast..
only, jumbo size frets should get the neck better than this. but cuz I m a begginers, the small fret divider or what ever its called helps me getting my finger heaps stronger
If you like metal this is really good for ya. soloist, this is the one, BUT rhydthm guitarist. Nah look somewhere else...
cuz the 2 single coil pickups are uslesss. sound dumb and dull
HEAPS OF FEEDBACK,
heaps of noise for single coils
A wire inside fell off
the tone and volume control gets loose and fall off
I'd buy another Jackson in a second if I had the cash.
Model Year: 1998
Price: $200.00 (new)
Where Obtained: Musician's Friend
It's got the average stuff, volume and tone knobs, three pickups (one humbucker) and a 5 position switch.
Low action, great intonation. Had to adjust the string level because the one fret buzzed a bit when I first got it.
For a beginner's model this is the best I've played.
I dropped it and it still stayed in tune... need I say more?
