Takamine Jasmine S-35

Guitar

Made by Takamine

Description Beautiful full sized steel-stringed acoustic guitar. Stays in tune wonderfully and has great sound. The fretboard is smaller than usual for an acoustic guitar, thin enough for a beginner, wide enough for good fingerpicking. This guitar kicks butt!

This guitar is a great guitar to start out with. The price is unbeatable for this quality. My favorite aspects about this guitar is it's tone and playability. The worst aspect about this guitar is it has a bit of fret buzz (a minor problem anyways ... ).
Model Year: 2001
Price: $100.00 (new)
Where Obtained: Ontario Music, Ontario CA
Features:
This guitar has all the features that a beginners guitar should have. It's dreadnaught shaped and has a rosewood fingerboard with 20(NOT 22, like that other guy said).
Playability:
The action on this guitar isn't too bad straight from the box, but I adjusted it to suit my comfort. In my opinion, the neck on this guitar is a bit too skinny.
Sound Quality:
This guitar has surprising sound quality for it's price range. It has a rich, full tone comparable to guitars of a much higher price range. I play a variety of styles of music on this guitar, and they all sound great.
Durability:
I've had this guitar for a year now, and I've only had to adjust the truss-rod twice. The body is very strong; I've dropped it several times, and my brother tried to destroy it once.

This is a beautiful guitar with wonderful sound and i recommend it to anyone, though it seems it would be a good beginners axe as well.
Model Year: 1999
Price: $130.00 (new)

Playability:
The fretboard is thinner than most acoustic guitars, which makes for good beginner material. However it is wide enough to make for good fingerpicking.
Sound Quality:
The sound quality of this guitar is very very nice. Also, it produced a lot of sound, when i play it can be heard resinating all through my house.
Durability:
The body has been constructed very well. You will feel very comfortable moving around with this baby strapped to you.
