This CD contains four Montgomery originals, as well as Sonny Rollins' "Airegin", and Brubeck's "In Your Own Sweet Way". The bass and drums are tight and swinging, and Tommy Flanagan comps nicely, as well as throwing in an occasional solo. This album is all about Wes, though. How does he play like that using only his thumb? My favorites are "West Coast Blues", and "Four on Six".

You can never mention jazz guitar without the name Charlie Christian and of course Wes. This recording has all the characteristics that made Wes the legendary jazz guitarist we know today. Excellent rhythm section, great tunes and a must have.
