There is some good playing on this and, yes, the H man is the real deal. But, really, this disk is rather uninspiring overall...I'd say it's just a hair below "Average". I'll drop this one in perhaps once a year when I dig out all the CDs from the back of the entertainment center. Ten years ago I thought that Gambale was a pretty cool player but the last few times I tried to listen I was really underwhelmed.

Everyone knows my opinion of the Thunder from down Under. But I'm truthfully an Alan Holdsworth fan, and love his playing on this CD. But sould be included in your collection for those days you want to change your car oil.
