Personnel Rivers Cuomo: Vocals, Guitar Brian Bell: Guitar, Vocals Matt Sharp: Bass, Vocals Patrick Wilson: Drums
Description Debut album by everyone's favorite nerdy band. Remember that "Happy Days" music video? Punk-inspired modern rock filled with a lot of melody behind the crunch.

An upbeat perspective record from four great musicians!! This cd is sort of an alter-ego to their follow up, Pinkerton. Its still a great composition. Only in Dreams allows you to get lost in the songs repeating bass and guitar lines. Say It Ain't So is a great song of hope, and In the Garage is my personal anthem!!!! Can't wait for the new album with Ric Ocasek.

These guys rock! They manage to take deeply colored chords and sophisticated melodies and put them in a punk-grunge enviornment. Cuomo really rocks on his guitar, and his riffs are amazing. Check out the clever use of dissonance on "Say it aint so" or "Undone-The sweater song". Nothing is over the top, and Ric Ocasek mixes it all just right. Their upright happy melodies seem to add light to even the darkest subject matter. You may have this CD buried in your collection, so dig it up and listen again.
