Rating: Nobody knows how to create tension by squeezing all of the juice out of one note (and keeping on wringing) like Albert King. Check out the solos on "Funk-Shun" and "Laundromat Blues". The guy does blues the way it should be -- not too fast, but with lots of feeling. Apparently, he made the most out of playing with his guitar strung upside-down!
This album has some of his best suff, including the 2 above-mentioned, as well as Crosscut Saw, Down Don't Bother Me, Born Under a Bad Sign (no, Cream didn't originate this song), and The Hunter. The songs were taken from various albums recorded from 1966-1968. |
