Keb' Mo'

by Keb' Mo'

(1994) Epic #EPC4781732

Description Keb' Mo's first album (I think) features some tasteful guitarwork and an interesting variety of songs.

I love Keb' Mo's solo blues stuff, and the ones on this album such as "Am I Wrong," "Love Blues," and his rendition of "Kindhearted Woman" definitely do not disappoint. He also does some pretty rockin' blues tunes with his band.

All in all, you definitely get some good blues guitar on this disc and it's worth investing in. Unfortunately, every single one of the guy's albums contains 2-3 cheesy ballads that I just have to skip over every time they come on, which makes it challenging listening. I guess a guy this talented wants to make $$$, so he has to cater to the masses with such schmoltzy yawners as "Don't Try to Explain" and "City Boy." Oh, well, not everyone makes perfect albums every time.
