Hendrix at his rawest.. hearing songs like "purple haze" and "foxey lady" (his more popular ones), he is still vicious, but this album showcases his blues playing, which is where he got his start. buy it if you love Hendrix or the blues (that should be everyone)

This CD is great. Although its not Jimi as most people know him, this CD is more bluesy than anything he has release. The slow version of Voodoo Chile Blues is great. I love this CD. I think you will too.

This is a great blues CD. Hendrix's renditions of Muddy Waters and others are terrific and his original work shines as well. Two great renditions of Hear My Train a coming and Red House are the highlights of the CD for me.

A masterpiece

    I agree. I checked this CD out of my local public library about a month ago, and it kicks ass. It's really cool to hear Jimi do a solo acoustic guitar thing, and all the other tracks here are great, too. I especially like the instrumental "Born Under a Bad Sign", done at a slow tempo, but with some fine soloing. "Catfish Blues" is another highlight, with that infectious trill thing in the bass. This is just a great album. Not spectacular or amazing, but as solid as they come.

This is my favorite CD at the moment. Buy it whether you like hendrix or not. 2 versions of "Hear my train a-comin'" acoustic and electric
