I looked at an Ibanez beginner's package, a Fender beginners package...I don't know why I picked the Peavey.

It is a decent guitar, if you're just starting off, its playable, affordable, and disposable, so if you jump around and accidentally drop it and it breaks you can just buy a new one cos its cheap.
Price: $210.00 (new)
Where Obtained: Music store
Features:
Made in China. Maple nack with Rosewood fretboard 21 frets 1 humbucker, 2 single coils transparent red finish white pickguard six strings strat-style.
Playability:
Its a good deal for a beginner, its a decent guitar, except the horrible humming, its kinda cute...I named it Sheena, isn't that a cute name? I think so. Its okay for an assembly line guitar.
Sound Quality:
Rage 158 amp, it came with the guitar in the beginner's package, I generally play a "punk rock" sound with it because that's all I know how to right now so yeh, its a very nice guitar for that kind of thing. I wouldn't say its suited for all that much else, nothing like Jazz or Classical guitar, maybe blues. The sound is bright. The humming...the humming, make it stop!
Durability:
It has to be tuned very often. Its fun to jump around with because I don't care if I drop it because its not a Gibson.

I picked this one becuase of lack of funds, and would have picked somethin better if not for that. if it were lost or stolen id keep the inxurance money and buy something better. alot could make it better, like a bigger neck scale and everything. its almost a mini. the only good thing about it is its comfy. if you need an ojay guitar, this might do, but i do not reccomend it
Model Year: 2000
Price: $220.00 (new)
Where Obtained: musicians choice
Features:
Made in korea, rosewood neck, mahogany body, 21 frets, 6 strings, 1volume, 1 tune, 3single coil pickups, passive, dont know what types, black finish, white pickguard, double cutaway, bolt on 25.5 inch scale, single locking tuners.
Playability:
You cant. it sucks. kinda of a thick neck, i dont like how it plays, not much sustain, and the nut is made of cheap materilas.
Sound Quality:
I use a rage 158 amp, it might do good for a rock band, not siuted for jazz or anything like that, sound sucks to a les paul, and not good for stage
Durability:
It gets out of tune fast, so not for stage. about daily for tuning, the screwsand stuff work good, stay tight. climate hasnt affected it in 5 months, so give it a 4 here

All in all its a good buy again for an entry level player!
Price: $200.00
Where Obtained: A friend
Features:
This guitar was very very nice. I acquired it from a friend as a begginner guitar, even though I haven't been playin for long this guitar seemed very good for the price I paid!
Playability:
This guitar has great playability, its neck looks very nice it makes it really easy to play the frets arent to big and arent too small. The only problem I accuired witht this guitar was the hum it created, I am in a band and everytime I have to stop playing like in bettween a song it is a must to turn my volume down all the way or else I will humm everyone out!!!!!! But that also might have to do with the amp I have (i use a Peavey amp with has killer bass distorion and it causes alot of fead back) All in all this guitar is a must for begginers.
Sound Quality:
As I said earlier the peavey has great sound but it has one flaw the Humm... This guitar creates an annoying hum so I aventualy replaced the picups with Fender no hum picups wich sound excellent on it!
Durability:
This guitar is very durable!

For the money (even new) it's hard to beat this guita for a beginner...
Features:
It's a strat copy-all of the standard features...very playable as is, but you could always put in better pickups....
Playability:
All the ones I've pulled off of the wall have played great!
Sound Quality:
like I said, new pickups wouldn't hurt, especially for metal, butthis is a good basic sound
Durability:
I've never had any durability problems with peavey equipment.
