(1999) Zebra #ZD 44015-2

Personnel Scott Henderson (g), Gary Willis (b), Scott Kinsey (keys), Kirk Covington (d)
Description The latest album from those oh-so-funky jazz/fusion masters from LA. It's just what you'd expect and perhaps a bit more.

If you've never checked out Scott Henderson or Tribal Tech, this would a good place to start. Over the past few albums ("Face First" and "Reality Check") they've really established a unique niche for themselves as the funkiest fusion players around. Take a listen to "Jalapeno" the third track, and you'll know what I mean. A sensitive and delicate melody kicks it off before Willis lays down a blazing solo. When he comes back down to Earth, he interplays a bit with Scott before Scott just kicks it into overdrive. They're definitely my favorite band in this genre.

Now that's good eatin'...
