I at my local CD store and was just shopping around for CD's of new and old music when overhead I heard a great female vocalist and was I like this. Not quite country like Taylor Swift but closer to Martina McBride and definitely not pop. The song structure reminded me of Cheryl Crow and then the guitar solo came and that was when I really became interested. I thought wow great, vocals, songwriting and monster guitar so I stood at counter waiting patiently for some assistance when I asked: "What is playing in the store". The reply was Orianthi. Holy Crap (substitute word) this stuff is great. Needless to say I bought the disc.
All the hype and you tube videos only show you the player, the disc displays the artist. Michael Jackson does know talent. When he had Jennifer Batten he had a good player, with Orianthi - a musical phenom. The girl can sing and play. From this 11 song compilation you will radio friendly treats like - Feels Like Home and According to You. These songs can branch the rock and country markets convincingly. "Bad News" and "Suffocated" are main stream rockers that just fits the modern regime. For the faint at heart, "Think Like a Man" and "What's It Gonna Be" are driving rocking tunes that will make you head bob. For those who don't believe, "Highly Strung" features Steve Vai in this burning instrumental where both Orianthi and Steve harmonize together and play some blistering leads. The disc finishes with "God Only Knows" which caps the this opus of 11 great songs.
So for people who don't believe that a girl can play great guitar you better, Orianthi is for real and a just superb musican as well.
