I REALLY like this guitar. In this price range, it's a super bargain.
Model Year: 2008
Price: $0.00 (new)
Where Obtained: Used
Features:
The EF-500R is small - between 00 and OM size - and made in China. Solid premium Sitka spruce top Solid premium rosewood back and sides Mahogany neck Rosewood fretboard Multi-bound body and headstock Nickel tuners Gold hardware 1-3/4" nut width
Playability:
This guitar is great for fingerpicking. Mine came set-up perfectly - with very low action. I have several guitars - almost all cost more than this Epi - but this one gets the most play time.
Sound Quality:
Great tone - a bit darker than other small body rosewood guitars that I've played in this prioce range. Tones are not as complex as in a more expensive guitar though.
Durability:
I've heard horror stories about the propensity of Masterbilt tops to crack, but mine has been just fine - so far - even though I sometimes leave it out for days at a time. I do, however, keep it properly humidified in its case most of the time.
